Looking great this sunny Tuesday afternoon 3rd September 2019. Thanks to Warren Stone and his expert team at Central Coast Memorials. This is a Toukley RSL Sub Branch initiative and all of our Sub Branch members can be proud of what has been accomplished. This will be a lasting memorial to those who have served. There will be a re-dedication service on Remembrance Day at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 2019. We hope that the whole community will join the Sub Branch in commemorating the day that the armistice was signed.
How’s it looking boys & girls? Warren Stone and his team of magicians at Central Coast Memorials are making great progress at the Toukley Sub Branch Cenotaph. Not long now before the eternal flame gets placed on top. Stainless steel hand rails are in the making and should be there soon. There will now be much better wheelchair access up the newly created ramp out front. Can’t wait until the re-dedication service on November 11th 2019..
On Tuesday October 9th the sun shone brightly over our Cenotaph as our new bronze statues were installed. They arrived on schedule and in time for our Remembrance day ceremony. This sees stage two of our Cenotaph upgrade and refurbishment program successfully completed. Planning for the third and final stage is well underway and we are hoping that all will be completed by ANZAC Day 2019..
The old Day Book in Club Toukley that registered the passing on of members of the Toukley RSL Sub Branch has been updated and converted to electronic format – some of you may have seen this in the foyer of the Club. The display now shows a book open to the current day of the year and shows the past members who died on this day. Thanks to George Meier and Keith Bailey for making this happen.
On Friday 25th November 2016, 11am at the Cenotaph there was a Dedication Service for:
- The new plaques for the current 484 deceased Sub Branch members whose ashes are interred in the Cenotaph Memorial Gardens
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaque, and
- Planting of the Lone Pine
The President and his lovely wife Narelle together with our Patron Karen McNamara, having a couple of ales with the Hon. Malcolm Turnbull, MP Pime Minister of Australia at a recent do at Club Toukley.
