Remermbrance Day 2019

By | Whats Happening

Remembrance Day and Dedication Services
Monday 11 November 2019 Commencing at 10.40am At the Cenotaph, Main Road, Toukley

To commemorate the centenary, marking one hundred years since the signing of the Armistice signifying the end of WW1, Toukley RSL Sub Branch will be conducting a Memorial Service and also a Dedication Service for two bronze statues. These statues will not only serve as a reminder to all those who have served our country and to those who paid the supreme sacrifice but also act as guardians for the current 408 veterans whose ashes are interred in the Memorial Gardens. Lest We Forget

ANZAC Day: 25th April 2019

By | Whats Happening

This is a special day for all Australians.  It is our opportunity to remember and honour the sacrifice that our service men and women made in times past to ensure that we enjoy the freedoms we do today.  It is also an appropriate day to remember the ongoing service our men and women of the Navy, the Army and the Air Force continue to provide and in particular those who have fallen in the line of duty. For a full background on ANZAC Day, see ANZAC Day Ceremonies in Sydney.

They shall grow not old,as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them
Lest We Forget

We urge all sub-branch members to attend the Toukley ANZAC day ceremonies – the dawn service and the main service mid morning. Dawn Service at the Toukley RSL Cenotaph. Assembly at the Village Green, Toukley at 0930hrs for the main march to the Cenotaph and service.
