An ANZAC Day Gift from Reverend Tim

By | Breaking News

Click on the arrow in the picture below to view the wonderful gift that we have received from our favorite Padre Tim Waghorn. We have spent many happy hours with Father Tim at our Sub Branch celebrations and of course our ANZAC Day ceremonies. I am sure that all of our members would like to wish Reverend Tim all of the very best. He’s said a few prayers for us, you may want to return the favor. Cheers, Bob & George

Corona Virus

Corona Virus Update

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and associated distancing regulations, the Sub Branch has been forced to suspend most of our normal activities. As you are all aware, Club Limited has been forced to close for the foreseeable future and we are not able to enter the premises. The Sub Branch Committee initially had plans to work from the Sub Branch Welfare office (Diggers In) at 203 Main Rd; however new rules concerning social distancing no longer allow us to do that. The committee members volunteered to continue to work from home in an effort to help those in need of assistance and manage the affairs of the Sub Branch, plus keep our members informed of any instruction from the NSW State RSL..

Should anyone need help with matters that are associated with the Sub Branch, you can contact the Sub Branch President, Alan Love by e-mail at president@toukleyrslsb.org.au or via telephone on 0407 784 530. The Secretary, John Fraher can be contacted at secretary@toukleyrslsb.org.au or 0408092230. Welfare inquiries can be sent to Welfare1@toukleyrslsb.org.au. Those seeking medical advice should contact their doctor.

The Sub Branch does not give medical advice.

Further information about CROVID-19 is available on the Australian Government Health web site at https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert  and on the New South Wales Government site at https://preview.nsw.gov.au/covid-19 . Sub Branch Committee and Trustees, urge you to follow the direction and guidelines provided by our government agencies and officials.

Stay safe and be well so that we can all get back together when our meetings and functions re-commence.

When this does occur, we will endeavour to contact as many members as is humanly possible to ensure that you are all aware of meetings and events.

Best Regards,

Sub Branch Committee & Trustees

Great Progress at Toukley Sub Branch Cenotaph

By | Breaking News, Whats Happening

Looking great this sunny Tuesday afternoon 3rd September 2019. Thanks to Warren Stone and his expert team at Central Coast Memorials. This is a Toukley RSL Sub Branch initiative and all of our Sub Branch members can be proud of what has been accomplished. This will be a lasting memorial to those who have served. There will be a re-dedication service on Remembrance Day at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 2019. We hope that the whole community will join the Sub Branch in commemorating the day that the armistice was signed.

Great Progress on Cenotaph Upgrade!

How’s it looking boys & girls? Warren Stone and his team of magicians at Central Coast Memorials are making great progress at the Toukley Sub Branch Cenotaph. Not long now before the eternal flame gets placed on top. Stainless steel hand rails are in the making and should be there soon. There will now be much better wheelchair access up the newly created ramp out front. Can’t wait until the re-dedication service on November 11th 2019..

Annual General Meeting 2020

Annual General Meeting & Election of Officers

Please be advised that the 2020 AGM will be held on Sunday, the 9th of February at 10:00 am.

At this year’s AGM all Executive and Committee positions will be declared vacant, the current members having served the prescribed period. New elections will be held for all positions.

At the July 2019 Committee meeting held on Monday 15 July the President, for the purpose of succession planning, asked for a non-binding show of hands as to which Committee members plan to put forth their nominations for a position on the Committee in 2020. All of the executives and most of the committee men indicated that they would not be standing for re-election. Most felt that it is time to pass that baton to some new blood.  So, it’s time for all members to caucus with their comrades and come up with some members that are willing to accept nominations for the various positions of President, Vice Presidents (2), Treasurer, Secretary and Committee Men.

All of the current members of the Committee have indicated that they plan to remain in the Sub Branch and are quite willing to assist the new Committee to the extent practical in order to complete a smooth transition.
